Dennis Ellement

FSA, FCIA, Partner

Dennis has 36 years of experience in the field as a consultant and actuary and is responsible for overseeing Ellement’s actuarial consulting. Focusing on pension, health and other programs, Dennis also lends his expertise to collective bargaining negotiations, executive compensation packages, and to providing evidence for the Courts, when required.

Prior to co-founding Ellement Consulting Actuaries, Dennis gained diverse experience in the industry while with Canada Revenue Agency, Great West Life and a large employee benefit consulting house.

Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours Physics) from the University of Manitoba, as well as a being a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries. Dennis was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba to the Manitoba Pension Commission for 10 years, and is a past member of the Risk Theory Examination Committee for the Society of Actuaries.

Ross Dunlop

FSA, FCIA, CFA, Partner

Ross brings over two decades of experience in the industry and provides clients with a wide range of expertise in investment and actuarial consulting.  His investment experience extends to managing complex administration cases, analyzing investment performance, risk and objectives as well as the preparation of actuarial valuation reports.  In addition, Ross consults on both flat benefit and final average salary type pension plans.

Ross has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree with a major in Actuarial Science from the University of Manitoba, has a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is a Fellow of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Brandon Ellement

With ten years in the consulting environment, Brandon is responsible for providing actuarial services to a wide variety of pension plans including both flat benefit plans, and final average salary type plans, in addition to his skills preparing actuarial valuation reports, investment consulting and managing complex administration cases.

Brandon holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Statistics from the University of Manitoba and is in the process of pursuing the demanding designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Brandon is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and an Fellow of Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Scott Ellement

CFP, CLU, CHS, Partner

Scott brings 15 years of experience to his work in benefit, pension and insurance consulting. His responsibilities include overseeing a number of small and medium sized institutional defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans. In addition, Scott provides advice to companies for group insurance benefits and individual defined benefit pension plans (IPPs) for business owners and executives. Scott also handles Ellement’s operations including the management of personnel, invoicing and supplier contracts.

Scott has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours International Studies) degree from the University of Manitoba. Scott is also a Certified Financial Planner® and Chartered Life Underwriter. He is licensed for life, accident and sickness insurance in the provinces of Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.

Bradley Bondy

FSA, FCIA, CFA, MBA, Partner

Brad is a Partner in the Ellement Consulting Group and is based in the company's Vancouver office. He has over twenty nine years of actuarial and investment experience bringing a broad range of skills and knowledge to his clients. His work experience includes twelve years managing investment portfolios.

For the past seven years he has been providing investment consulting advice to many of the largest pension funds in Western Canada. Areas of specialization include investment strategy and policy, investment performance monitoring, investment manager searches and selection, asset mix and asset liability modeling studies.

Brad has an MBA in Finance from the University of Alberta, he holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.

Tim McGorman

FSA, FCIA, CFA, Partner

Tim has 30 years of experience as a consultant and actuary and is responsible for actuarial and investment consulting in all types of pension and other retirement programs.

Tim was appointed to the Manitoba Pension Commission in 2010 and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Manitoba Pension Commission.  Tim is a member of CFA Winnipeg and is the Chair of the Prairie Regional Council of the Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM).  He is a past member of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) Pension Plan Financial Reporting Committee (PPFRC) and currently serves on the Designated Group that is reviewing the CIA’s Commuted Value Standards of Practice.

Tim graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and has also obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Janet Rabovsky

Janet joined Ellement Consulting Group as a Partner in March 2016. Her primary responsibilities will include client consulting, manager research and business development. Previously, Janet held the position of Director at Willis Towers Watson from 2001 to 2016 where she provided investment consulting advice for pension funds, endowments and foundations. In addition to consulting, Janet was also a part of the global private equity, real asset and infrastructure research teams. Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson, Janet worked for the mutual fund company of a major chartered bank in Toronto where she was responsible for the development of a number of funds and portfolios, as well as spent 3 years at a semi government organization in Melbourne, Victoria where she was responsible for a $2 billion global equity portfolio. Janet spent 5 years in various finance, accounting and pension roles post graduation . Janet has a B.A. in English from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Wendy Bonner

Manager of Administrative Services/Consultant CEBS

Wendy brings 24 years of experience in the consulting environment to her roles as both a consultant and manager of administrative services, and is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS). She is responsible for all aspects of pension benefit administration including managing administrative services personnel, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, provincial/federal pension legislation acts and the Income Tax Act (Canada), as well as reviewing pension plan benefit calculations. In addition, Wendy provides human resources services by overseeing interviews, conducting staff performance reviews, and coordinating workflow to maximize staff efficiency.

Wendy acts as a liaison between Ellement and our clients’ human resources departments, payroll and/or benefits departments, as well as ensuring the secure and confidential transfer of year-end data from our clients to our systems.

Laura has nine years in the consulting field and is responsible for providing actuarial consulting services to a wide variety of pension plans including both the flat benefit plans and final average salary type plans, plus Individual Pension Plans quotes, registration, and valuation reports. 

Laura is a graduate from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree, with a major in Actuarial Science. She is an Associate of both the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and is in the process of pursuing her Fellow (FSA) designation.

Previously, Anum was a Senior Investment Analyst at Willis Towers Watson, where she assisted in consulting to pension plan sponsors.

Anum is a CFA® charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University.
